REFLEXOLOGY

COMPLIMENTARY THERAPIES WITH YOU IN MIND

Reflexology

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing complementary therapy based on the theory that certain points on the feet, known as reflexes, correspond to the glands, organs and systems of the body.

When working on the feet reflexologists may come across what feels like "grainy-like" deposits on the reflexes, clients can sometimes feel a little discomfort or tenderness over these reflexes; this can be an indication that there might be congestion or imbalance in the corresponding area of the body. Reflexologists will then use techniques to relieve the imbalance and promote healing.

Usually, after a treatment the client's tension should be significantly reduced and they should feel incredibly relaxed. Sleep is generally better and they will often feel an improved sense of well-being - this all contributes to healing either physically or mentally.

An appointment normally lasts an hour although treatment can vary, and on your first appointment you should expect to be a little longer.

If you are treated here at The Point for Osteopathy, Massage Therapy or Personal Training, your Practitioners will all have access to your treatment plans, enabling them to work together.

Benefits

Reflexology has been around for centuries and there are numerous studies and articles written on it's benefits.

We know that it can improve circulation or be used to promote a sense of well-being, but there is much more you can gain from this than that:

Stimulate nerve function

Provide emotional balance

Increase energy levels

Reduce anxiety

Reduce migraines

Boost immune system

Reduce the effects of stress and tension

Improve sleep

Like all of our disciplines, Reflexology can help with almost anything and by applying pressure to reflexes, reflexologists aim to stimulate energy pathways and restore both emotional and physical balance within the body.
