What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy based on the principle that different points on the feet, known as reflexes, correspond to the organs, glands and systems of the body. By applying specific pressure and massage techniques to these reflexes, reflexologists aim to stimulate energy pathways and restore physical and emotional balance to the body.
Reflexologists do not diagnose or prescribe, however reflexology is becoming a widely recognised therapy that can work alongside conventional healthcare to support physical, emotional and mental well-being.
Benefits of Reflexology
We often underestimate the importance of relaxation for our physical and mental health. Relaxation and self care is as important as a healthy diet, exercise and good sleep.
Reflexology can facilitate the release of mental, physical and emotional tension as a result of our busy and often stressful lives. The benefits of reflexology vary from person to person, but in general most clients experience improved mood, reduced stress, better quality sleep and a greater sense of wellbeing. Reflexology can also be beneficial for pre-conceptual, pregnancy and postpartum care.
